Emergency Appliance Repair in Tampa Bay — the honest answer
Fridge warming up at 10 PM? Washer flooding the laundry room? Here is exactly what we can do tonight, what we can do tomorrow, and how to stop the damage until we arrive.
Why we don't advertise 24/7
Companies that promise “24/7 appliance repair” in Tampa usually mean a 24-hour call center — the technician still comes the next morning, often with an after-hours surcharge of $100–$200 on top. We would rather tell you the real schedule, send a technician with the right parts in the van, and charge the normal $79 diagnostic, waived with the repair.
What to do tonight
- Refrigerator not cooling: keep the doors closed — a full fridge holds safe temperature for about 4 hours, a full freezer for 24–48 hours. Move milk, meat and medicine to a cooler with ice if it will be longer than that. Don't unplug it unless you see sparks or smell burning.
- Washer leaking or won't stop filling: turn off both water valves behind the machine (clockwise) and unplug it. Mop up — water under the floor is the expensive part, not the washer.
- Dishwasher leaking: cancel the cycle, shut the valve under the sink, unplug or switch off the breaker.
- Dryer smells hot or burnt: stop it, unplug it, leave the door open. Do not run it again until it is checked — lint fires are real.
- Gas smell from the stove or dryer: this is not an appliance call. Leave the house and call TECO Peoples Gas at 877-832-6747 or 911.
- Oven won't turn off / burner stuck on: switch off the breaker (electric) or the gas valve behind the range.
What happens in the morning
Book online now and pick the first window; the technician calls about 20 minutes before arriving, diagnoses the problem, and you approve the exact price before any work starts. The common parts for Samsung, LG, Whirlpool, GE and Maytag are already in the van, so most “emergency” calls are finished in that first visit.
Questions people ask at night
Do you offer 24-hour or weekend emergency service?
No. The phone is answered Monday–Friday 8 AM–8 PM and Saturday 8 AM–4 PM; repair visits run 8 AM–6 PM on weekdays and until 4 PM on Saturday. Closed Sunday. Calls and online bookings made after the last window are scheduled for the first window the next working day.
Is there an after-hours or emergency fee?
No — because we don't come after hours. The diagnostic is $79 at any time we work, and it is waived when you go ahead with the repair.
How fast can you come?
Usually the same day if you call in the morning, otherwise the next day. The last weekday window is 3–6 PM, the last Saturday window ends at 4 PM; Sunday calls go to Monday morning.
My fridge is warm — will the food survive until morning?
With the doors kept closed, a fridge stays safe about 4 hours and a freezer 24–48 hours. Beyond that, move perishables to a cooler with ice. If the fridge is simply warm but running, the food is usually fine until our morning visit.
Who do I call for a gas leak?
Not us — leave the house and call TECO Peoples Gas (877-832-6747) or 911. Once the gas company clears it, we repair the appliance.
